Buronzo to the centre
… to the centre of a regional system, with sites easily reachable in less than an hour that include lakes, art cities such as Turin and Vercelli, the extraordinary religious complex of Oropa and Sacro Monte di Varallo, and the terroirs of great Piedmont wines like Gattinara and Erbaluce. There is no shortage of attractions for hikers, from the wilderness of the unspoiled slopes of the Alps of Valsesia, to easy walks on gentle mountain pathways between Biella and Canavese. Hundreds of kilometres of country roads are barely used by cars and mostly paved, ensuring cyclists easy tours that wind through medieval villages and old farmhouses, “navigating” through the dense rice fields or against the backdrop of Baraggia’s woods. Food and wine tourism also flourishes here, and in addition to superb reds from the hills of Vercelli and the whites from the Canavese area, it is also home to the only PDO certification in Italy awarded for rice production, and a great dairy tradition between Biella, Novara and Valsesia that can boast of its toma and gorgonzola cheeses. In the castle we collaborate with promotional and touristic institutions and offices based in our land, so we are always available to help you customise your stay in Buronzo, making it the point of departure (or arrival, or sojourn …) for your discovery of this region.
